The Front Assist is a collision-alert safety system monitoring the situation in front of the vehicle via radar. Faced with an unavoidable collision, it applies the brakes to minimise the consequences.

It can also bring the car to a standstill if there is a danger of colliding with an oncoming vehicle when you are turning left (in a left-hand drive), for example when you are at a junction.

The Predictive Cruise Control expands the adaptive cruise control’s functions. Besides keeping track of the traffic ahead, it also processes recognised travel signs and speed limits stored in the navigation system. This enables it to adjust speed in good time, for example when it is approaching a bend, a roundabout, or an intersection, or in response to speed limits.

Thanks to two radar sensors at the rear of the car, these systems detect vehicles approaching from behind or that are in the car’s blind spot. The driver is informed of this using an LED signal on the inside of the wing mirror housings. Another feature of this system is Rear Traffic Alert, recognising vehicles approaching from the sides when reversing out of parking bays. The latest addition is Exit Warning system, which warns when exiting from a parked car could result in a collision.

Traffic Jam Assist makes it easier to drive a car in traffic jams. It draws on the Predictive Cruise Control and Adaptive Lane Assist to start, brake and turn the car to copy the movement of surrounding vehicles in a traffic jam.
